Meet your driver and transfer to your hotel in nearby coastal Negombo. Stay one night in Negombo.
Day 2 – Negombo – Dambulla  
Drive to Sigiriya and its 5th century rock fortress. A moat, rampart and gardens ring the rock base. Continue on to visit the Dambulla rock temple, built in a series of caves. Stay two nights in Dambulla. (B)
Day 3 – Polonnaruwa & Minneiya National Park  
Visit the ancient capital of Polonnaruwa and see the ruins of the Royal Palace, temples and splendid statues of the Buddha. Next stop is Minneiya for a jeep safari in the National Park. The wetlands are home to wild elephants. (B)
Day 4 – Dambulla – Kandy  
Travel to Kandy in the foothills of the central highlands stopping at a fragrant spice garden in Matale along the way. Tour culturally rich Kandy, visit an arts and crafts centre, a gem museum, the Temple of the Tooth Relic and see a cultural show. Stay two nights in Kandy. (B)
Day 5 – Kandy     
Visit Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden, established as a pleasure garden for a king. Also tour a tea plantation and taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea. (B)
Day 6 – Kandy – Colombo  
Drive to Colombo and take an afternoon city tour. Like in many capital cities, a building boom is changing the city skyline, yet in parts the old world charm is retained. Visit Pettah Bazaar, Hindu and Buddhist temples and see residential areas of stately homes. Stay one night in Colombo. (B)
Day 7 – Depart Colombo     
Transfer to the airport for exit flight. (B)
