Laos Short Stop 5 Days

Laos Short Stop 5 Days

Welcome to the mystical land of Laos, where soaring mountains, thick forests and the fertile Mekong River Valley are graced by a history devoted to man’s spiritual yearnings in the form of countless temples and ancient palaces. The capital Vientiane has a welcoming provincial town feeling and the World Heritage site of Luang Prabang, the seat of former kings, is a must-see highlight.

Day 1 – Arrive Luang Prabang
Arrive Luang Prabang in Laos and take a private guided transfer to your hotel. Designated as a World Heritage Site, this former capital is one of the best preserved traditional cities in Southeast Asia. Stay three nights in Luang Prabang.
    Day 2 – Mekong River
Spend the morning cruising the mighty Mekong River. Visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves and stop at a riverside village where rice wine is produced, then the village of Ban Muang Keo where traditional Lao textiles are woven on ancient wooden looms. On return to the hotel, stop at the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre (closed on Mondays) to observe valuable artefacts and traditional clothing and implements from various minority groups in the area. (B)
    Day 3 – Luang Prabang
On a sightseeing tour, visit the National Museum, explore the city’s fascinating array of shimmering temples and French colonial buildings, and climb Mount Phousi for panoramic views. In the afternoon, visit Kuang Si Waterfall, one of the town’s highlights. A single large cascade tumbles from the jungle feeding a series of falls and pools that make perfect swimming holes. Laos may be a landlocked nation without beaches but Kuang Si’s cool turquoise waters make up for it. (B)
    Day 4 – Luang Prabang – Vientiane
Early morning guided transfer to Luang Prabang airport for a short flight to Vientiane. On arrival transfer to your hotel. Your sightseeing in this quaint, sleepy capital, with its mix of Buddhist temples, fading French architecture and Chinese shophouses, includes visits to Wat Sisaket with its thousands of little Buddha statues, Wat Prakeo, Wat Simuang, That Luang, and the Patousai Monument, Vientiane’s Arc de Triomphe. Balance of the day at leisure. (B)
    Day 5 – Depart Vientiane
Farewell Laos today as you take a private transfer, vehicle with driver, to the airport for your exit flight. (B)
