Day 1 – Arrive Luang Prabang
Meet your guide on arrival and transfer to your hotel. Stay four nights in Luang Prabang.

Day 2 – Luang Prabang
Visit the National Museum, explore the city’s array of shimmering temples and French colonial buildings, climb Mount Phousi for panoramic views and experience the tumbling cascades and pools of Kuang Si Waterfall. (B)

Day 3 – Mekong River
Begin the day with the unique custom of offering alms to monks. After breakfast take a two hour cruise along the mighty Mekong River. Stop to visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, and riverside villages where rice wine is produced and traditional Lao textiles are woven on ancient wooden looms. (B)

Day 4 – Luang Prabang
A day at leisure. (B)

Day 5 – Luang Prabang – Plain of Jars – Xieng Khoang
Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the Luang Prabang market on an early morning visit before travelling by road to the Plain of Jars through stunning mountain scenery. See some of the over 300 stone jars dating back nearly 2,000 years whose origin and function remain a mystery. The area also bears witness to Indochina’s wars of the 20th century. Stay one night at the Vansana Plain of Jars Hotel in Xieng Khoang. (B)

Day 6 – Xieng Khoang – Vientiane
Further sightseeing of the Plain of Jars before flying to Vientiane, Asia’s most laid-back capital. Stay two nights in Vientiane. (B)

Day 7 – Vientiane
Sightseeing in this quaint, sleepy city, includes visits to Wat Sisaket, with its thousands of little Buddha statues, Wat Prakeo, Wat Simuang, That Luang, and the Patousai Monument, Vientiane’s Arc de Triomphe. Visit Buddha Park, also known as Xieng Khuan, and stop at the Friendship Bridge, funded by the Australian government as development aid for Laos. (B)

Day 8 – Depart Vientiane
Transfer to the airport. (B)
