Day 1 – Arrive Luang Prabang
Arrive Luang Prabang in Laos and take a private guided transfer to your hotel. Designated as a World Heritage Site, this former capital is one of the best preserved traditional cities in Southeast Asia. Stay three nights in Luang Prabang.
Day 2 – Luang Prabang
On a sightseeing tour, visit the National Museum, explore the city’s fascinating array of shimmering temples and French colonial buildings, and climb Mount Phousi for panoramic views. In the afternoon, visit Kuang Si Waterfall, one of the town’s highlights. A single large cascade tumbles from the jungle feeding a series of falls and pools that make perfect swimming holes. (B)
Day 3 – Mekong River
Spend the morning cruising the mighty Mekong River. Visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves and stop at a riverside village where rice wine is produced, then the village of Ban Muang Keo where traditional Lao textiles are woven on ancient wooden looms. On return to the hotel, stop at the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre (closed on Mondays) to observe valuable relics and traditional clothing and implements from various minority groups in the area. Balance of the day at leisure. (B)
Day 4 – Depart Luang Prabang
Farewell Luang Prabang today then transfer by private car with driver to the airport for your exit flight. (B)
