Kathmandu & Nagarkot-Kakani Trek
Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu (No Meals)
Fly to Kathmandu. (Flight not included.). On arrival take a private transfer (vehicle with driver) to your hotel.
Stay two nights at the Hotel Shanker (Deluxe room) in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Kathmandu (B)
Sightseeing in Kathmandu begins at Kumari Bahal, home to a young living goddess. Visit Swayambhunath, an important two thousand year old hilltop temple. On a clear day there are views to the Himalayas in the east. Travel to Patan on the southern banks of the Bagmati River, the first settlement in the Kathmandu Valley, to see an amazing collection of elaborately carved temples and monuments in wood, stone and metal.
Day 3: Kathmandu – Nagarkot (B,L,D)
Check out after breakfast and take a 45-minute private guided car drive from Kathmandu to Changunarayan and start trekking to Nagarkot (1932m/2 hours).
Changunarayan is one of the oldest temples which was built in the 4th century and is one of the UNESCO enlisted world heritage sites. It is a famous temple of Lord Vishnu built in classical Pagoda Style. From Changunarayan, it takes almost two hours to trek to Nagarkot, which is a famous vantage point for the sunset and sunrise over the mountains like Ganesh Himal (7422m), Gaurishankar (7134m), Jugal Himal range, Langtang range, and other snow-capped Himalayas. Stay one night at the (basic tourist class) Hotel Country Villa (very basic room) in Nagarkot.
Day 4: Nagarkot – Chisapani (B,L,D)
After enjoying the stunning sunrise view from the Nagarkot viewpoint, we will trek to Chisapani. After having our breakfast and enjoying the stunning sunrise view from the Nagarkot viewpoint, we will leave Nagarkot in the early morning and start our trek from Nagarkot to Chisapani (2215m/6-7 hours)
We will walk through the dense rhododendron forests, cross numerous waterfalls, small settlement areas and temples on our way. We can also interact with the locals and enjoy the beautiful views of Langtang (7227m) and Mt. Everest (8848m) on our way. Stay one night at a (very basic) Local Lodge/Guest House (very basic room) in Chisapani.
Day 5: Chisapani – Shivapuri (B,L,D)
After breakfast, continue to trek from Chisapani to Shivapuri (2725m/5-6 hours). We will walk along the dense forests and a few settlements having tea houses. We will encounter fast flowing waterfalls, temples, and dams on our way. We will also cross Mulkharka which is a famous Tamang settlement. You can stroll around the area to observe the lifestyle of the inhabitants.
Stay one night at a (very basic) Local Lodge/Guest House (very basic room) in Shivapuri.
Day 6: Shivapuri – Kakani – Kathmandu (B,L)
After breakfast, trek from Shivapuri to Kakani (2030m/5-6 hours).
The descending trail along the forested landscapes will take us to one of the most ancient Gorkhalis villages, Kakani. It is a famous vantage point of the major mountain peaks in the Nuwakot District. It is also a famed recreational destination. We can enjoy the magnificent views of the mountains like Ganesh Himal (7422m), Annapurna (8091m), Manaslu (8163m), Dhaulagiri ranges etc. along with the views of lush green forests and rolling hills. From Kakani, we will drive back to Kathmandu, a journey of approximately 2 hours. You will arrive at your hotel late in the afternoon. Stay one night at the Hotel Shanker (Deluxe room) in Kathmandu.
Day 7: Depart Kathmandu (B)
Leisure time until private transfer (vehicle with driver) to Kathmandu airport. (Flight not included.)
