Arrive at Narita airport, meet your driver and transfer to your hotel by shuttle bus. Stay five nights in Tokyo.
Day 2 – Tokyo
Your guide will meet you at the hotel this morning for a city tour by public transport. Visit Asakusa, the historical heart of the city during the Edo period in the 17th to 19th centuries. See Kaminarimon Gate and Sensoji Temple then travel by subway to the Harajuku area for an eclectic shopping experience. Guide service ends at 3pm. Your train pass is valid for the remainder of the day to go where you please. (B,L)
Day 3 – Kamakura excursion
Travel by train with your guide to Kamakura to visit the temple with its statue of Great Buddha, the Tsuruoka Hachimangu Shrine and Komachi Street. (B)
Day 4 – Hakone excursion
Today’s excursion is by coach to the vast area of greenery at the foot of Mt Fuji known as Hakone National Park. Take a cruise on Lake Ashi and travel by cable car to the volcanic valley of Owakudani, with views of Mt Fuji on clear days. (B)
Day 5 – Tokyo
Day at leisure. (B)
Day 6 – Depart Tokyo
Meet your driver for the transfer to Narita airport by shuttle. (B)
