Day 1 – Arrive Saigon
Transfer from Saigon airport to your hotel. Stay three nights at the Paragon Saigon or Saigon Prince Hotel.
Day 2 – Saigon and Cu Chi Tunnels
A tour of dynamic Saigon takes in historic buildings such as the former Presidential Palace and a visit to Ben Thanh Market. Lunch is at Pho 24 Restaurant, then drive to Cu Chi to visit the incredible underground tunnel network. (B,L)
Day 3 – Ben Tre in depth
Tour the watery world of Ben Tre Province in the Mekong Delta. Visit a factory making handmade bricks then board a private boat to cruise the waterways. Shore excursions include coconut candy, chopstick and mat weaving workshops. A tuk-tuk takes you to an orchard to taste tropical fruits, followed by lunch and a sampan ride along the palm fringed waterways. (B,L)
Day 4 – Saigon – Danang – Hoi An
Fly to Danang and transfer to Hoi An, stopping en route at the Marble Mountains. In Hoi An take a guided walking tour of the old town visiting former merchant’s houses, the 400 year old Japanese Covered Bridge and the market. Stay three nights at the Lantana Hoi An Boutique Hotel & Spa or the La Residencia Hotel in Hoi An. (B,L)
Day 5 & 6 – Hoi An
Free days in Hoi An. (B daily)
Day 7 – Hoi An – Danang – Hanoi
Transfer to Danang airport for your flight to Hanoi. A water puppet show is included tonight. Stay two nights at the Silk Path Boutique Hanoi or Essence Hanoi Hotel. (B)
Day 8 – Hanoi
Morning Hanoi city tour includes One Pillar Pagoda, Hanoi Hilton Prison, the Temple of Literature and a cyclo tour of the old quarter. Afternoon at leisure. (B)
Day 9 – Halong Bay overnight cruise
Transfer by coach to Halong to board your boat for a cruise among the rocky limestone islands in the emerald waters of Halong Bay. Stay one night on the Aclass Legend cruise boat in a deluxe en-suite cabin. (B,L,D)
Day 10 – Halong to Hanoi
Further cruising around Halong Bay this morning. Disembark at Halong and return to Hanoi by coach. Stay one night at the Silk Path Boutique Hanoi or Essence Hanoi Hotel. (B)
Day 11 – Hanoi – Luang Prabang
At leisure until an evening flight to Luang Prabang in Laos, one of the best preserved traditional cities in Southeast Asia. Stay three nights at the Hotel Villa Deux Rivieres or Le Sen Boutique Hotel. (B)
Day 12 – Mekong River
Spend the morning cruising the mighty Mekong River. Visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves and stop at riverside villages where rice wine and traditional textiles are produced. Back in the city, visit the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre. (B)
Day 13 – Luang Prabang
Visit the National Museum, explore a fascinating array of shimmering temples and French colonial buildings, and climb Mount Phousi for panoramic views. In the afternoon visit Kuang Si Waterfall, one of the area’s highlights. (B)
Day 14 – Luang Prabang – Siem Reap
Afternoon flight to Siem Reap in Cambodia. Stay three nights at the Somadevi Angkor Hotel & Spa. (B)
Day 15 – Siem Reap
Tour the South Gate of Angkor Thom and Bayon, Ba Phoun, the Elephant and Leper King Terraces, the Royal Palace area and enchanting Ta Phrom Temple which is enveloped by tree roots. Around mid-afternoon, explore magnificent Angkor Wat and remain at the site to view the sunset. (B)
Day 16 – Siem Reap
Day at leisure. (B)
Day 17 – Depart Siem Reap
Transfer to the airport for exit flight. (B)
