Shanghai - This bustling metropolis is being groomed to become the new economic and trading hub of China, and indeed all of Asia! Modern Shanghai owes much of its cityscape and unique global status to the decadent prosperity arising from the occupation of the city by colonial powers in the past, which is most evident in the famous Bund area. Our tour will give you a greater understanding of the city’s past, present and future.

• Itinerary

  Day 1 – Arrive Shanghai
  Arrive Shanghai and transfer to your hotel for a four night stay.
  Day 2 – Shanghai
  Take a guided walk along the Bund to learn about the colonial heritage of this famous waterfront area. See the area from a different perspective on a Huangpu River cruise then travel across the river to the business district of Pudong. Travel to the sightseeing floor in the 2^nd Sphere of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower for amazing views over the expanding metropolis of Shanghai, and visit the History Museum at the base of the tower. A thrilling acrobatic show is included this evening. (B,L,D)
  Day 3 – Shanghai
  Wander through the classical Yu Gardens and the adjoining bazaar. Visit the Jade Buddha Temple, and in the afternoon, stroll around People’s Square and visit the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall. (B,L)
  Day 4 – Shanghai
  Today is at leisure for further exploration or perhaps shopping along Nanjing Road. Those choosing a 5* package will be treated to a farewell banquet at Lost Heaven Restaurant. Optional tour available – see price box. (B)
  Day 5 – Depart Shanghai
  Transfer to the airport for exit flight. When schedules permit, the very fast Maglev train will be used for the arrival or departure transfer. (B)

  Optional tour on Day 4 – A day tour to the canal town of Zhu Jia Jiao and Shanghai’s former French Concession can be added for $250 per person for 2 or more, or $390 for a sole traveller, including lunch.
