Day 1 – Arrive Siem Reap
Your guide will meet you on arrival in Siem Reap for the transfer to your hotel. Stay four nights at the Tara Angkor Hotel.
Day 2 – Siem Reap & Tonle Sap Lake
Early morning viewing of the sunrise at magnificent Angkor Wat then remain at the site to explore the temple complex. See mystical Ta Prohm, overgrown with roots of giant fig trees, before returning to the hotel for breakfast. In the afternoon, drive to Chhong Kneas to board a boat to explore the floating villages and see the wildlife of Tonle Sap Lake. If it’s a school day, visit a floating primary school! (B)
Day 3 – Siem Reap
View seasonal activities such as rice planting and harvesting on the drive to the small village of Kbal Spean. Begin a short and easy jungle trek to the River of a Thousand Lingas where Hindu sculptures were carved into the river’s granite banks and bed more than a thousand years ago. Visit the Angkor Centre for Conservation of Biodiversity, home to a collection of animals that have been saved from trafficking. Creatures housed here include gibbons, monkeys, anteaters, storks, snakes, giant ibis, turtles, and the bright eyed and cuddly lorus. In the afternoon, visit Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre, the birthplace of Khmer classical style architecture. (B)
Day 4 – Siem Reap
Day at leisure. In the evening, enjoy uniquely Cambodian performances by Phare, the Cambodian Circus. (B)
Day 5 – Siem Reap – Saigon
Fly from Siem Reap to Saigon. Balance of the day at leisure. Stay two nights at the Duxton Hotel. (B)
Day 6 – Cu Chi Tunnels
Morning visit to Cu Chi to see the incredible underground tunnel network built by the Vietnamese guerrilla fighters. Afternoon at leisure. (B)
Day 7 – Saigon – Mekong Delta
Depart for Cai Thia in Tien Giang province and select bicycles for a 15km ride along quiet village paths. Stop at an orchard to taste tropical fruits. Board a boat to cruise to a local home for lunch then stop at rustic handicraft workshops and a brick and pottery kiln, see fishing and traditional homes made of wood and palm leaves. Arrive at your home stay for tea and traditional folk music. Relax in a hammock, explore the islet or join your host in preparing the evening meal. Stay one night at Ut Binh House. (B,L,D)
Day 8 – Mekong Delta – Saigon – Danang – Hoi An
An exciting day starts with a boat trip to Cai Be floating market. Visit local industries making rice paper, fish sauce, etc, and stop for lunch at an ancient Mandarin house where four generations of family members live together. Drive back to the airport at Saigon for a flight to Danang. Transfer to Hoi An. Stay four nights at the Sunrise Hoi An Beach Resort or Palm Garden Resort. (B,L)

Day 10 – Wet Rice Farm Join-in Tour
Rice is the staple food of Vietnam and today’s tour provides a hands-on lesson on wet rice cultivation. Travel to a nearby village and choose a bicycle for a ride into the countryside filled with rice paddies. Meet and interact with local farmers, learn how wet rice is cultivated and then try it for yourself. Transplant some baby wet rice and perhaps ride a water buffalo around a small pond. Lunch is in a farm house before returning to Hoi An. (B,L)
