  • Itinerary

    Day 1 – Arrive Shanghai
    Arrive Shanghai airport where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. See the dazzling night lights of modern Shanghai on an evening Huangpu River cruise.
    Stay two nights at Sunrise on the Bund.
    Day 2 – Shanghai
    Your city tour today will include the classical Yu Gardens and its adjoining bazaar and panoramic views of old and new Shanghai from the sightseeing floor in the 2nd Sphere of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Learn about Shanghai’s development from a small village to the present metropolis at the History Museum at the based of the tower. Walk along the historic Bund and in the evening attend an acrobatic show. (B,L,D)
    Day 3 – Shanghai – Tunxi
    Travel by high speed train to Haungshan. Visit Tunxi Old Street in the afternoon.
    Stay one night at the Xin’an Country Villa Hotel. (B,L)
    Day 4 – Huang Shan
    After breakfast, drive to Huang Shan (also known as Yellow Mountain) by private car, then take the cable car from Yungu Station to the top of the mountain. Visit such scenic sites as Brush Pen Peak, Lion Peak and Xihai Grand Canyon. In the evening enjoy the sunset at Cloud Dispelling Pavilion.
    Stay one night at Shilin Hotel on the mountaintop. (B,L,D)
    Day 5 – Huang Shan – Hangzhou
    Rise early to view the catch the magnificent sunrise. After breakfast, descend the mountain by another route to see Flying Rock, Brightness Apex and Turtle Peak. Take the cable car at Yuping station down to the foot of Huang Shan and visit the ancient village of Hongcun before catching the high speed train to Hangzhou. Meet your local guide on arrival and transfer to your hotel.
    Stay two nights at the Xinqiao Hotel Hangzhou. (B,L)
    Day 6 – Hangzhou
    Take a cruise on serene West Lake, visit the Six Harmonies Pagoda, and sample the fine teas at a local plantation where traditional methods of growing and preparing green tea are demonstrated. A visit to the Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum is sure to intrigue. (B,L)
    Day 7 – Hangzhou – Xiamen
    Transfer to the rail station for the high speed train to Xiamen in Fujian Province. Upon arrival take a ferry to Gulang Yu Islet and wander amongst one of China’s most charming pockets of colonial architecture. Visit the Shuzhuang Garden and the largest piano museum in Asia. Return to the mainland by ferry.
    Stay one night at the Days Hotel & Suites Mingfa. (B)
    Day 8 – Xiamen – Yong Ding
    Drive to Yong Ding County to see the circular earth buildings, or tulou, of the Hakka people, a World Heritage Site described by UNESCO as “exceptional examples of a building tradition and function exemplifying a particular type of communal living and defensive organization in a harmonious relationship with their environment.”
    Stay one night at the Prince Tulou Inn. (B,L,D)
    Day 9 – Yong Ding – Xiamen
    See more of the clusters of earthen houses before driving back to Xiamen. Take the Golden Island Ring Road, stopping to enjoy the beach and coastal scenes.
    Stay one night at Days Hotel & Suites Mingfa. (B,L)
    Day 10 – Depart Xiamen
    Transfer to airport for flight home. (B)
