The Yunnan Province is a mountainous wonderland in southern China, home to diverse and colourful minority groups. The region is noted for its beautiful landscapes and the world heritage town of Lijiang which offers a fascinating glimpse back in time.

• Itinerary and Tour Map
  

  Day 1 – Arrive Kunming
  Arrive Kunming airport where you will be met by your guide. Tour the Western Hills for magnificent views and temples, then to Dragon Gate to overlook Lake Dianchi.
  Stay two nights at the New Era Hotel or Holiday Inn.
  Day 2 – Kunming
  Take an excursion to the fascinating Stone Forest, a large area of eroded limestone peaks. (B,L)
  Day 3 – Kunming to Dali
  Fly to Dali. See the Old City Wall and take a cruise on beautiful Erhai Lake.
  Stay two nights at the Landscape Hotel. (B,L)
  Day 4 – Dali
  Visit the ancient town of Xizhou with time to browse through the market. Dali’s Three Pagodas are amongst the oldest standing structures in Yunnan and, when reflected in the lake, make stunning photo subjects. (B,L)
  Day 5 – Dali to Lijiang
  A delightful journey through valleys and mountains leads to Lijiang, a unique world heritage listed town of wooden houses and stone streets laced with swift flowing canals. Visit Black Dragon Pool.
  Stay three nights at the Lijiang Wangfu Hotel. (B,L)
  Day 6 – Lijiang
  Drive to Jade Dragon Snow Peak and ride the cable car to a mountain meadow. Visit a Naxi village to view Baisha Wall Murals depicting Ming legends. (B,L)
  Day 7 – Tiger Leaping Gorge excursion
  Travel on the Yunnan-Tibet road, stopping at the First Bend in the Yangtze River, then along a winding mountain road to Tiger Leaping Gorge where the river thunders through a narrow and deep gorge. (B,L)
  Day 8 – Lijiang to Kunming
  Fly back to Kunming for connection to flight home. (B)
